About “25 Images of a Man's Passion”
"25 Images of a Man's Passion," also known as "The Passion of a Man," is a wordless novel by Flemish artist Frans Masereel, first published in 1918. The story follows a young working-class man who leads a revolt against his employer. It is the first work of its kind by Masereel and is considered the first wordless novel. The book was published under the French title "25 images de la passion d'un homme." Masereel went on to create more works in the genre, with his most famous being "Passionate Journey," published in 1919. The wordless novel became a popular form in Europe during the 1920s and 1930s.
