About “Al-Ibana”
Al-Ibānah 'an Uşūl ad-Diyānah, or Al-Ibana, is a 10th-century theological work attributed to Abu al-Hasan al-Ash'ari, the founder of the Ash'ari school. The book's authorship and date of composition are debated by scholars. Some believe it was written soon after al-Ash'ari left Mu'tazilism, possibly marking a new theological stance. Others suggest it was written later in his life, possibly reflecting a change from his earlier kalam method. The work follows a traditional approach rather than the Ash'ari kalam method.
