Helena Marino was once a promising alchemist but is now a prisoner of war and her own memory loss. Her Resistance friends were killed, her powers suppressed, and the world she knew is destroyed. After a long war, Paladia is ruled by corrupt guild families and depraved necromancers, who used undead creatures to win. Helena is held by these rulers. Officially, she was an unimportant healer, but she has no memory of the months before her capture. This makes her enemies wonder if she is truly insignificant or if her lost memories hold a key to the Resistance's final plan. To recover her memories, she is sent to the High Reeve, a powerful and ruthless necromancer. Trapped on his estate, she must fight to protect her past and her identity.
