About “Altneuland”
The Old New Land is a utopian novel written by Theodor Herzl, the founder of political Zionism, and published in 1902. It expands on Herzl's earlier political work, Der Judenstaat, and presents his vision for a Jewish homeland in the Land of Israel. The novel was translated into Yiddish and Hebrew, with the Hebrew version titled Tel Aviv, which later became the name of a city. It played a significant role in shaping early Zionist thought and is considered one of the foundational texts of the movement. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
