About “Aradia, or the Gospel of the Witches”
Aradia, or the Gospel of the Witches is a book written by the American folklorist Charles Godfrey Leland and published in 1899. It presents what Leland claimed was the religious text of a group of pagan witches in Tuscany, Italy, detailing their beliefs and rituals. The authenticity of the group and the text has been widely questioned by historians and folklorists. Despite this, the book played a significant role in shaping the contemporary Pagan religion of Wicca during the 20th century. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
