Assassination Classroom is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yusei Matsui. The story centers on an intelligent, octopus-like teacher who is assigned to a class of students tasked with assassinating him to stop him from destroying the Earth. The students, considered misfits, attend school in a separate building and are taught in a special class known as 3-E. The series was published in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from July 2012 to March 2016, and its chapters were later compiled into twenty-one tankōbon volumes.
