About “Az ember tragédiája”
The Tragedy of Man is a 19th-century Hungarian play written by Imre Madách. It is a dramatic work that traces the history and tragedy of mankind from the creation of the world to a futuristic ice age. The play is divided into fifteen scenes, each representing a different historical period. The scenes include events in Heaven, the Garden of Eden, ancient Egypt, Athens, Rome, Constantinople, Prague, Paris, and a futuristic setting. In each scene, Adam, Lucifer, and Eve appear, often in different roles and identities. The play explores themes of human suffering, moral conflict, and the passage of time. It ends with a return to the beginning, at the outside of Eden.
