About “Bóg się rodzi”

"Bóg się rodzi" is a Polish Christmas carol written by Franciszek Karpiński in 1792. Its melody is believed to have originated as a coronation polonaise used for Polish kings, dating back to the 16th century during the reign of Stefan Batory. The carol is considered by some to be the National Christmas hymn of Poland and was briefly regarded as a national anthem, particularly by poet Jan Lechoń. It is also known as one of the most beloved Polish Christmas carols. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
