Bamboo Blade is a Japanese manga series written by Masahiro Totsuka and illustrated by Aguri Igarashi. It was serialized in Young Gangan magazine from December 2004 to September 2010. The story follows Toraji Ishida, a high school kendo instructor who is challenged by a former upperclassman to a competition between their female students. To meet the challenge, Toraji gathers and trains a team of five girls, including Tamaki Kawazoe, a talented young kendo practitioner.
