Barakamon is a Japanese manga series created by Satsuki Yoshino. The story centers on Seishu Handa, a calligrapher who relocates to the remote Gotō Islands near Kyūshū, and his experiences with the island's residents. The manga first appeared as three one-shot stories in Square Enix's Gangan Powered magazine from February 2008 to February 2009. It then began serialization online on Gangan Online in the same month and was also published in Monthly Shōnen Gangan starting in July 2014, ending in December 2018.
