About “Basilisk”
Basilisk is a Japanese manga series written by Masaki Segawa, based on Futaro Yamada's 1958 novel The Kouga Ninja Scrolls. It was serialized in Young Magazine Uppers, a seinen manga magazine published by Kodansha, from February 2003 to July 2004. The story is set in 1614 and follows a conflict between two ninja clans, Iga of Tsubagakure and Kouga of Manjidani. Their rivalry is part of a competition to decide which grandson of Tokugawa Ieyasu will become the next shogun.
