Black Rain is a novel by Japanese author Masuji Ibuse. It was first serialized in the magazine Shincho in January 1965. The story is based on historical records of the destruction from the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Ibuse drew from real accounts to portray the impact of the bombing on individuals and society.
