About “Book of Concord”
The Book of Concord is the Lutheran doctrinal standard comprising 10 authoritative creedal documents, including the Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds, the Augsburg Confession and its Apology, the Small and Large Catechisms, the Smalcald Articles, Melanchthon's Tractate, and the Formula of Concord. This translation, commissioned in 1993 and edited by Kolb and Wengert, is the fifth English translation since 1851, succeeding Theodore Tappert's 1959 edition from Muhlenburg Press.
