When Tom Seymour, a child psychologist, saves a young man from drowning, he discovers the man is Danny Miller, a boy he once helped convict for murdering an old woman when Danny was ten. Reluctantly drawn back into Danny's life, Tom confronts the blurred boundaries between good and evil, innocence and guilt, as Danny's questions and demands grow increasingly intense.
