About “By the Sword”

Kerowyn, granddaughter of the sorceress Kethry and daughter of a noble house, had been managing her family's keep since her mother's death and looked forward to resuming her training of horses and hunting after her brother's wedding. When her ancestral home was attacked, her father was slain, her brother wounded, and his fiancée kidnapped, Kerowyn was driven by desperation to confront the threat, discovering that a scorcerer had led the attack and that her destiny was now unfolding.
