About “Captain”
Captain is a baseball manga series created by Akio Chiba. It was published in Monthly Shōnen Jump from 1972 to 1979. During its run, another manga by Chiba, Play Ball, was published in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1973 to 1978. Both Captain and Play Ball received the 22nd Shogakukan Manga Award for shōnen in 1977.
