About “Cartagena Manifesto”
The Cartagena Manifesto was written by Simón Bolívar in 1812 during the Colombian and Venezuelan War of Independence, following the fall of the First Republic. It was composed in Cartagena de Indias on 15 December 1812. This was Bolívar's first public document, in which he outlined his analysis of the causes of the loss of the First Republic. The manifesto provided the conceptual basis for his future actions during the independence movement. It later became well known due to Bolívar's later reputation as the "Liberator of five nations."
