About “Chłopi”
The Peasants is a novel written by the Polish author Władysław Reymont. It was composed in four parts between 1904 and 1909, though Reymont began writing it in 1897. The completion was delayed due to a railway accident and health issues, taking seven years to finish. The early parts were published in the weekly magazine Tygodnik Illustrowany.
