About “Chilean Declaration of Independence”
The Chilean Declaration of Independence is a document that declared Chile's separation from the Spanish Empire. It was written in January 1818 and officially approved by Supreme Director Bernardo O'Higgins on 12 February 1818 in Talca. The document is dated 1 January 1818, but this is believed to be the date of its drafting in Concepción.
