About “Chronica Polonorum”
Chronica Polonorum is a Latin treatise on Polish history and geography written by Maciej Miechowita, a Polish Renaissance scholar. Miechowita was a professor at Jagiellonian University, as well as a historian, geographer, astrologer, and royal physician to King Sigismund I the Old. The work was first published in 1519. It provides a detailed account of Poland's past and its geographical features, reflecting the knowledge and perspectives of the time. The book remains an important early source on Polish history.
