About “Chu sanzang ji ji”
The Chu sanzang jiji or Collected Records Concerning the Tripitaka is the earliest extant catalog of Chinese Buddhist texts. It was compiled by Sengyou during the Liang Dynasty and completed around 515 CE. The work includes a catalog of Buddhist texts, an introduction on the translation process and its challenges, a collection of biographies of translators, and prefaces to scriptures that provide historical context.
