About “Civaka Cintamani”
Civaka Cintamani is one of the five great Tamil epics. It was written by Tiruttakkatēvar, a Jain ascetic based in Madurai, in the early 10th century. The story follows a prince who is skilled in all arts, a skilled warrior, and a devoted lover with many wives. The epic is also known as Mana Nool. It is divided into 13 cantos and consists of 3,145 quatrains written in the viruttam poetic meter.
