About “Conjectures and refutations”

Sir Karl Raimund Popper was an Austrian–British philosopher and social commentator. He was a major figure in the philosophy of science, known for rejecting inductivist views of the scientific method and promoting empirical falsification through the falsifiability criterion. He founded the Department of Philosophy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Popper argued that empirical scientific theories cannot be proven but can be falsified through decisive experiments. He opposed traditional justificationist accounts of knowledge and developed critical rationalism, a philosophy of criticism. His work focused on distinguishing science from non-science using falsifiability and critiquing the induction-based demarcation criterion. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
