About “Cyteen”
Ariane Emory, a powerful political figure on Cyteen Station, controlled Reseune, a massive factory that produced azi—computer-trained servants and soldiers. After her assassination, her rivals and victims, including Dr. Jordan Warrick, his cloned son Justin, and Justin's azi brother Grant, are not relieved by her death. Instead, her murder triggers a radical experiment at Reseune, aiming to merge nature and nurture, biotech and cybernetics, genetics and psychology. Emory's followers seek to recreate her, using advanced technology to re-create her personality and influence. The novel explores the consequences of this experiment on Cyteen's society.
