About “Dīwān Lughāt al-Turk”

The Dīwān Lughāt al-Turk is the earliest known dictionary of Turkic languages. It was compiled between 1072 and 1074 by the Kara-Khanid scholar Mahmud al-Kashgari. The work is considered the first comprehensive dictionary of Turkic languages, as it documents the languages spoken during that time. Mahmud al-Kashgari gathered and recorded linguistic information to create a detailed reference for Turkic languages. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
