De amore is a twelfth-century treatise written in Medieval Latin by Andreas Capellanus, also known as De arte honeste amandi. The title may be translated as The Skill of Loving Virtuously. The true identity of Capellanus remains unknown, though scholars have debated it for many years. He is sometimes referred to by the French version of his name, André le Chapelain.
