About “De Orbe Novo Decades”
Decades of the New World by Peter Martyr d'Anghiera is a collection of eight narrative tracts that describe early Spanish exploration, conquest, and colonization of the New World, as well as exploration of the Pacific and related topics. The first four tracts were published separately in three volumes in 1511, 1516, and 1521. The complete set of eight tracts was first published together as a single work in 1530. As one of the earliest histories of the Age of Discovery, the Decades provide important insights into the history of geography and exploration. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
