The Destruction of the European Jews is a 1961 non-fiction book by historian Raul Hilberg. It was revised in 1985 and published in a three-volume edition. The book is considered the first comprehensive historical study of the Holocaust. Before its publication, little information about the genocide of Jews by Nazi Germany had reached the wider public, according to historian Michael R. Marrus.
