The Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844 are a series of notes written by Karl Marx between April and August 1844. These writings were not completed and were compiled and published after Marx's death in 1932 by the Marx–Engels–Lenin Institute in the Soviet Union. The manuscripts were first published in their original German in Berlin. A second publication followed in the Soviet Union in 1933, also in German.
