About “Encyclopédie anarchiste”

The Anarchist Encyclopedia was an encyclopedia started by the French anarchist activist Sébastien Faure between 1925 and 1934. It was planned to have five parts, including an anarchist dictionary, a history of anarchist thought, biographies of militants, biographies of individuals who contributed to human emancipation, and a catalog of anarchist books. Only the first part, a dictionary, was completed and published in four volumes. The dictionary contained 2,893 pages and covered various anarchist tendencies. Many contributors took part in the project, including Luigi Bertoni, Pierre Besnard, Émile Armand, Han Ryner, Augustin Souchy, Max Nettlau, Voline, and others.
