About “Evangeline”

Evangeline is a 1929 American drama film directed by Edwin Carewe and starring Dolores del Río. The film does not have audible dialogue but was released with a synchronized musical score and sound effects using both sound-on-disc and sound-on-film technologies. It is based on a play produced by Arthur Hopkins that premiered on Broadway in 1913.
