About “Faraon”
Pharaoh is the final major novel by the Polish writer Bolesław Prus, published in 1897. It was written over a year, from 1894 to 1895, and first appeared in serial form from 1895 to 1896. The novel stands out as the only historical work by an author who had previously criticized historical novels for distorting history.
