About “Farewell to the Master”

"Farewell to the Master" is a science fiction novelette written by American author Harry Bates. It was first published in the magazine Astounding Science Fiction in October 1940. The story included three illustrations by American artist Frank Kramer. Later, the novelette was loosely adapted into the film The Day the Earth Stood Still, released in 1951. The film took inspiration from the original work but was not a direct adaptation. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
