About “Farsnama”
Fārsnāma is a Persian-language history and geography of Fars province, written between 1105 and 1116 during the Seljuk period. It was composed by Ibn al-Balkhi, a native of Fars who lived in the 12th century. His family originated from Balkh in Khorasan, as indicated by his nisba. The work was commissioned by the Seljuk ruler Muhammad I Tapar.
