About “Fatawa 'Alamgiri”
Fatawa 'Alamgiri is a 17th-century compilation of Islamic law, also known as Al-Fatawa al-Hindiyyah or Fatawa-e-Alamgiri. It covers topics such as statecraft, ethics, military strategy, economic policy, justice, and punishment. The text served as the primary legal framework of the Mughal Empire during the reign of Emperor Aurangzeb. It remained an important reference for enforcing sharia in South Asia during the 18th and early 20th centuries.
