About “First Blood”

This novel by David Morrell introduces John Rambo, a young Vietnam veteran wandering in a fatigue coat, who becomes embroiled in a life-and-death struggle against a small-town cop through the woods, hills, and caves of rural Kentucky. It was later adapted into the film starring Sylvester Stallone, and Rambo's name became synonymous with the macho man archetype.
