Fist of the North Star is a Japanese manga series written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara. It was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1983 to 1988 and later collected in 27 tankōbon volumes. The story is set on a post-apocalyptic Earth after a nuclear war. It follows Kenshiro, a warrior who inherits the deadly martial art Hokuto Shinken. This martial art allows him to kill opponents by striking their vital points, often leading to violent and gory deaths.
