About “Follas novas”
Follas novas is a collection of poetry by the Galician writer Rosalía de Castro, published in 1880. It is her second and final collection written in the Galician language. Most of the poems were composed between 1869 and 1870 while her family lived in Simancas, though some pieces from the 1870s were previously published in newspapers. The work is regarded as a key text in Galician literature and played a central role in the Galician Rexurdimento, a cultural and literary revival movement.
