Good Harbor is a novel that centers on the lives of two women in Gloucester, Massachusetts: fifty-nine-year-old Kathleen Levine, a children's librarian and mother of two grown sons, and forty-two-year-old Joyce Tabachnik, a freelance writer and mother of a twelve-year-old daughter. When Kathleen is diagnosed with breast cancer, she forms a friendship with Joyce, and together they navigate personal struggles, emotional wounds, and the complexities of family and connection through shared walks on Good Harbor beach and conversations about books, loss, and the natural world.
