About “Great Hymn to the Aten”

The Great Hymn to the Aten is the longest of several hymn-poems written to the sun-disk deity Aten. It was composed in the middle of the 14th century BC and is sometimes attributed to Pharaoh Akhenaten or his courtiers. Akhenaten introduced Atenism, a religious reform that replaced traditional Egyptian beliefs. The hymn shows similarities to the biblical Psalm 104. It is an ancient Egyptian literary work.
