About “Guangyun”

The Guangyun is a Chinese rhyme dictionary compiled from 1007 to 1008 during the Song dynasty. It was created under the patronage of Emperor Zhenzong of Song. The full name of the work was Dà Sòng chóngxiū guǎngyùn. Chen Pengnian and Qiu Yong served as the chief editors. The Guangyun is a historical linguistic resource that organized characters by their phonetic elements.
