Clay Bell, having spent six years establishing the B-Bar ranch in the Deep Creek Range, faces a threat from Jud Devitt, a speculator from the East who seeks to harvest timber from the land to fulfill a contract with the Mexican Central for railroad ties. Devitt is supported by corrupt politicians, a dishonest banker, and fifty lumberjacks, while Colleen Riley, Devitt’s fiancée, becomes drawn to Clay’s integrity and charm, influencing the outcome of the conflict between the two men over timber and cattle.
