About “Half-blood blues”
Berlin, 1939, and the Hot-Time Swingers, a German American jazz band, are banned from performing by the Nazis due to their music being labeled "degenerate." After fleeing to Paris, the band's young trumpet-player, Hieronymus Falk, is arrested by the Gestapo in June 1940 and disappears, leaving behind a legacy and a mystery. In 1992, two surviving members of the band, Sid Griffiths and Chip Jones, attend a documentary premier in Berlin about Falk, prompting Sid to recount the events surrounding Falk's disappearance and the band's history in German American slang.
