Here Is Your War is Ernie Pyle’s account of American soldiers’ first campaign against the enemy in North Africa during the Second World War. The book describes the Allied campaign in North Africa, including the landing at Oran, combat in the desert and mountains of Tunisia, a tank battle that ended in defeat for inexperienced American forces, and the final victory at Tunis, while portraying the experiences of ordinary G.I.s through Pyle’s observations of their courage, sacrifice, homesickness, and humor.
