About “Hikaru no Go”
Hikaru no Go is a Japanese manga series created by Yumi Hotta and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. It is based on the board game Go and was supervised by professional Go player Yukari Umezawa. The series was published in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1998 to 2003 and later collected into 23 tankōbon volumes. The story centers on Hikaru, a boy who finds a Go board in his grandfather's attic. The board is haunted by Sai, a ghost from the Heian era who was once the emperor's Go teacher.
