About “Hime-chan's Ribbon”

Hime-chan's Ribbon is a magical girl manga series created by Megumi Mizusawa and serialized in Ribon Magazine from August 1990 to January 1994. It was later adapted into an anime series produced by Studio Gallop, which aired for 61 episodes from October 2, 1992, to December 3, 1993. The manga was collected into ten volumes in Japan and received a full anime DVD release. A stage musical based on the series was produced in December 1993, starring the idol group SMAP. The musical was presented in three episodes, each a week apart, and SMAP performed the anime's opening and ending themes. Each member of SMAP also appeared in animated form in episode 13. The manga and anime remain unlicensed in the United States. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
