About “Historia destructionis Troiae”
Historia destructionis Troiae, also known as Historia Troiana, is a Latin prose narrative written by Guido delle Colonne, a Sicilian author, in the late 13th century. The work was based on the Old French verse romance Roman de Troie by Benoît de Sainte-Maure. Guido claimed that the main part of the text was written in 71 days, from September 15 to November 25 of an unspecified year, with the full work completed by 1287.
