About “Hitler's Table Talk”

"Hitler's Table Talk" is a series of monologues delivered by Adolf Hitler during World War II, transcribed from 1941 to 1944. The talks were recorded by several individuals, including Heinrich Heim, Henry Picker, Hans Müller, and Martin Bormann. Bormann, Hitler's private secretary, arranged for the recordings to be made in shorthand for historical record. The first notes were taken by Heim from July 1941 to March 1942, followed by Picker from March 1942 to August 1942. Heim and Bormann later added material until 1944. The conversations took place at the Führer Headquarters and covered topics such as war, foreign affairs, religion, culture, and Hitler's personal views. The authenticity of the transcripts and their published versions has been a subject of debate.
