About “HUMAN TRACES”

Sixteen-year-old Jacques Rebiere in rural France and sixteen-year-old Thomas Midwinter in England are introduced as young men with contrasting lives, with Rebiere studying butterflies and frogs and Midwinter living in ease. Four years later, after a fateful meeting, the two become friends and pioneers in psychiatry, but their differing diagnoses of a female patient at an Austrian sanatorium threaten to divide them and undermine their professional achievements.
