In Search of the Supernatural is a 4th-century CE Chinese compilation of legends and stories that focus on supernatural elements such as gods, ghosts, and other strange phenomena. It is written in the zhiguai and chuanqi styles. The authorship of the text is not clearly stated, but it is believed to have been compiled by Gan Bao, a historian who worked at the court of Emperor Yuan of the Jin dynasty around AD 350.
